Réunion has a tropical climate with high temperatures and humidity throughout the year. However, seasonal rainfall and extreme weather pose challenges for open-field cultivation.
To address these issues, this project utilizes multi-span plastic greenhouses to improve growing conditions, increase crop yields, and minimize climate-related risks.
The project consists of five interconnected greenhouses, covering a total area of approximately 10,000 square meters.
It primarily supports the cultivation of tomatoes, cucumbers, and leafy vegetables, along with experimental planting of watermelons and melons.
The greenhouses are covered with high-transparency plastic film and equipped with a natural ventilation system, ensuring an optimal growing environment.
This setup maximizes land use efficiency while providing a stable supply of fresh produce to the local market.
